Earlier this year, Sofia the First debuted on Disney Junior, and I have loved her character right from the start. And, not for reasons other people love Disney princesses. No, Sofia is a unique princess because she has a commoner’s background until her mother marries King Roland the Second. This lets little girls have the magic fantasy that for any reason, they too can become royalty.

A Brand New Friend

A Great Moral Lesson

In Sofia The First: Ready to Be A Princess, I fell in love with Sofia when she befriended another princess who wasn’t as outgoing as the rest. She was seen as shy, reserved, and a little weird by fellow classmates. And though Sofia was assigned to this little princess to complete a project, Sofia sought after her friendship.

During this moment, I knew Sofia the First would teach my daughter the lessons of friendship that I want to instill in her. And, like most Disney characters, teach high moral values that are important when teaching our children.
