Ju-Ju-Be HoboBe

I received the Ju-Ju-Be HoboBe bag to facilitate this review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Ju-Ju-Be HoboBe

Okay, here’s the truth… I appreciate a good bag like some people appreciate fine art. You’re laughing, I know, but it is totally the truth. I have bags galore and each one of them serve a very different and very specific purpose in my life. And don’t even introduce me to another bag, I will seriously find a purpose for it.

And that is exactly my deal with Ju-Ju-Be. Yes, you have seen me post about them before with my awesome Ju-Ju-Be BFF for twins and my Ju-Ju-Be Be Prepared is absolutely amazing for long outings with my kids. But now I have my hands on the HoboBe which I have totally been eyeballing for months.

The Ju-Ju-Be HoboBe is a bit different for me though. I have 1,000 different ideas for how I could use this simplistic, beautiful, well designed bag. But, at the end of the day, there was one very well thought out reason I wanted it.

Ju-Ju-Be HoboBe Camera Bag

A little more than a year ago I took a leap and invested in a good camera. Just like my bags, I did a lot of looking, researching, and comparing for this camera. Eventually I bought a Nikon D3200. It is quite the camera to carry, but now that I have it, I simply can’t imagine using a point and shoot camera for our special family events.

My camera, surprising, came with a camera bag. It’s a nice bag. It’s well thought out. However, it’s a camera bag and any time I take it with us, people know exactly what is inside that bag. And if the shape alone doesn’t tell them, well that little plaque on the outside that says Nikon certainly does.

I have wanted to replace that bag for awhile, but I just hadn’t found the right bag to do it. That is until I started to look at my once thought of diaper bags as a good alternative. My camera bag had to fit well with everything I use it for. Because just using it for my camera isn’t enough. The camera bag, when traveling, also doubles as our “electronics bag” where we store charging cords, the iPad, the Samsung Tablet, and the Nikon point and shoot camera for Zadey.

In the past we have used other electronic style bags for this, but again, it just wasn’t my style and didn’t look the way I wanted it to.

At work I have recently become the “social media manager” which also means that I’m carrying my camera to and from work, a lot. This new title gave me further incentive to want to change up my camera bag since I now carry it along with my purse to and from work.

Inside My HoboBe Camera Bag

Truthfully, I don’t carry a lot with my camera. More than anything I want my camera and all the extras to be in a bag that is comfortable for me to carry, has plenty of space for everything, can keep me organized, and looks like something other than a typical camera bag.

As you can see I have my camera, lense, and some extras including my phone charger and iPad. Inside the bag, it all fits perfectly snug.

Ju-Ju-Be HoboBe Camera Bag

Of Course, It’s A Diaper Bag Too!

Ju-Ju-Be HoboBe Diaper Bag

As a diaper bag, the HoboBe is perfect for a mom who is a simplistic packer or has a toddler, where we tend to carry less stuff. Honestly, I would not have been able to use the HoboBe for the first 6 months or so when the boys were born. Now that I have a couple of toddlers running around, it absolutely the perfect grab-and-go bag for just a few items.

When using the HoboBe for a diaper bag, it fits:

  • 4 Diapers
  • Small Package of Wipes
  • 2 Sippy Cups
  • Couple of Snack Bags
  • My Wallet, Chapstick, Keys

The pattern you chose above is my fave, but next I would choose Tokidoki. It is wild and I could definitely find my bad easy. I love that it is used for camera and that is what I need it for. I think it would be a great traveling makeup case too!

  3. Denice P says

I was thinking that hobo be could be used to carry a tablet and maybe a point and shoot camera . Something that I could use on day trips to carry my stuff around. I dig the Royal Envy print the best.

Oh, I love their backpacks, and thought about getting one for my daughter for school, too. I can see that it would be so practical for her and it would wear well and probably last a few years. If you decide to do it, let me know how it is holding up!
